NRA COURSE CURRICULUM (MODULE 1)
Matt Gumersell is a licensed MO/FL CONCEALED CARRY INSTRUCTOR/ NRA certified instructor in Basic Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home (MODULE 3), and Personal Protection Outside the Home (MODULE 4).

The course curriculum for all NRA classed is VERY thorough/ well planned/ professional/friendly/ and most proficient in teaching clients/students from the basics of handgun safety/operation/shooting technique, to the much more advanced defensive measures of personal protection in the home to the most advanced personal protection outside the home.
Missouri/ Florida Concealed Carry/NRA Basic Pistol:
The lesson for the Missouri/Florida Concealed Carry course consists of two distinct and separate modules.
NRA BASIC PISTOL COURSE CURRICULUM (MODULE 1)
The NRA's Basic Pistol course curriculum, which consists of 5 two hour sessions plus range qualifications and a written exam from NRA.
MO/FL CONCEALED CARRY CLASSES (MODULE 2)
This module of instruction is a SEPARATE MODULE of instruction from the NRA course curriculum and is given to qualify MO/FL concealed carry students after students have completed the NRA Basic Pistol module.
Missouri/Florida students/clients must live fire qualify on a B27 target or equivalent @ 21'. There is then a review of applicable MO/FL statutes to the respective course of instruction. Each student candidate is required to fill out a pre-course evaluation, a Hold Harmless form, and pay for the class.
GROUPS OF 10 MUST REGISTER AND PAY AS A GROUP 10 DAYS PRIOR TO SCHEDULED CLASSES.
Each student will receive a rather large NRA course curriculum lesson plan with binder and an NRA basic pistol instruction manual, a current copy of Missouri Statutes on Concealed Carry laws, and course completion certificate and test scores from written and live fire range testing. Upon completion of the course, students must then provide their information to their residing county's chief law enforcement officer and go through the next qualifying procedures to receive their valid Missouri/FLORIDA Concealed Carry license respectively. The cost for the NRA Basic Pistol Training/MO/FL Concealed Carry course is $150, and includes range fees, NRA Instruction manuals, books, and copies of Missouri Statutes on Concealed Carry. If student does not own a firearm, a firearm may be rented from Sovereign Arms LLC for $10.00 PER firearm, to qualify for MO/FL Concealed Carry. Keep in mind that MO/FL Concealed Carry requires qualification of live firing test with 25 rounds from semi-automatic, and 25 rounds through a revolver. This rental fee may be applied as a discount from retail MSRP on any firearm the student purchases from Sovereign Arms LLC within 30 days after qualifying for MO/FL Concealed Carry, or completion of the NRA Basic Pistol course.
Personal Protection in the Home:
Our NRA Certified Personal Protection in the Home course is MODULE 3 secondary advanced course for learning to use a firearm/pistol in the home as a defense method. It is an extremely thorough and proficient course and is 8-10 hrs as well. It covers defensive shooting techniques, barricade shooting, point shooting, flash sight shooting, developing a plan action against a home invasion, dealing with the legalities, emotional and mental difficulties after a violent confrontation, setting up a "saferoom", safe gun storage and handling, defense load ammunition, and much more! This course is $200.00 and includes all NRA course materials, and NRA Personal Protection in the Home book. Upon completion students will receive their certificate. NRA BASIC PISTOL SHOULD BE TAKEN FIRST AS A PREREQUISITE TO PPITH. If a student would like to take both classes and pays for both prior to NRA basic pistol, a $50.00 discount will be given, making the combined price for both classes $300.00.
Personal Protection Outside the Home (MODULE 4):
The Personal Protection Outside the Home is NRA's most advanced class for tactical and defensive measures in protecting yourself and others outside the home. PERSONAL PROTECTION IN THE HOME MUST BE TAKEN PRIOR TO PPOTH. PPOTH has two levels of instruction. LEVEL 1 is 9-10 hrs. LEVEL 2 is an additional 5-6 hrs. Cost is $350.00. for level 1/ $425.00 for LEVELS 1 & 2 CONSECUTIVELY It includes extensive live fire range techniques, instruction in scenarios, techniques, and awareness, and legalities of situations requiring personal protection outside the home. The full course involves more range time and live fire and barricade shooting drills and techniques. Learning to present your firearm from concealment. Ladies will learn drawing from a HOLSTER PURSE ONLY! Engaging multiple threats/ presenting from 90-180 degree turns and much more! The course comes with NRA course lesson plans and sessions, NRA PPOTH book, and upon completion and testing both written/live fire, the student receives his/her NRA personal protection outside the home certificate.
Classes are forming now and will generally be 10 to 20 students per class on Saturdays from 7:30am- 5:30pm. All students must download, review, and fill out ALL of the below forms and documents before attending any classes, including Chapter 571 of the Revised MO Statutes. FLORIDA APPLICANTS MUST POSSES AND READ FL CCW LAWS.

All clients/students must possess and have thoroughly read and understood the MO/FL concealed carry laws respectively. MO Chapter 571 of the Revised MO Statutes.
